The Player's Pub, located in Catalina, about six miles north of Tangerine on Oracle road, is a perfect place to socialize over a cold drink on a hot summer's day, and watch your favorite team battle for position in the standings. With six Directv HD Flat Screen TV's and about twenty bar stools one of the best seats in the house is dead center of the long leg of its "L" shaped bar. Along with six more tables for four and two more conveniently placed TV's, no one should have trouble finding a good seat.

Not only does the Player's Pub offer the MLB and NFL packages they are also equipped with a pool table and an electronic dart board making this sports bar a dream "stay-cation" for anyone living nearby. Outside, where beverages are permitted, is a partially covered patio with a "mister" system. Other forms of entertainment include ladder ball, karaoke, and live music.

One can become satiated with the food as well. From pizza to hot dogs and hamburgers, from brats to dollar tacos on the weekends hunger will not prevail. A most reasonable price system is intact, and the atmosphere of the staff and customers make for a friendly visit each time. It is locally owned and operated with an emphasis on the community. Fundraisers for the Special Olympics and The Catalina Crusaders, "that's my baby... I created that one," says a proud, smiling Ruth Dormanen, the owner of 13+ years, are held annually. Many awards and recognitions have been bestowed upon Ruth and her crew throughout the years.

The Player's Pub jukebox is filled with music spanning generations. One can also easily get lost for a few moments admiring the sports memorabilia that hangs from the walls. From Joltin' Joe to Lute Olsen these walls will take the young and old back to places they thought they had forgotten.

Whether you're new in town or have driven by a hundred times without stopping, the Player's Pub will continue to beckon until that day you stop in to enjoy a frosty mug of your favorite domestic beer or a stiff one on the rocks of your favorite spirit.
